Kim Bong Carpentry Village sits on Cam Kim Island across the Thu Bon River from Hoi An's Ancient Town, reached by a short boat trip from the main riverside quay. The village has produced woodwork for more than 400 years — the artisans here built the traditional timber houses and ceremonial structures that define Hoi An's architecture. Workshops are open-fronted, and visitors can walk between them watching carvers, joiners, and boat builders at work. Pieces range from small souvenirs to full-scale replica furniture available for shipping. The boat trip across the Thu Bon is part of the experience.
