A sheltered bay on the north-eastern shore of Son Tra Peninsula, about 10 km from Da Nang city centre. Vịnh Sơn Trà (Son Tra Bay) is a calm cove with clear water and a small beach, reached by motorbike or car up the Son Tra mountain road. Entry is free. It is quieter than My Khe and tends to attract locals rather than tour groups. The road up also passes several viewpoints over the bay and the Da Nang coastline. Best visited outside peak morning hours when the road up the peninsula is less congested.
