Wyndham is the photograph. 24K gold tile, floor 29, open 6am to 10pm. The hotel still calls it the highest and largest pool in the world. The floor and the view are real. The record is their wording.
Novotel is a river hotel with a level-4 pool, plus Sky36 on the roof. Do not book it because you want to swim 30 floors up. Book it because you want the river, the bridge show, and a bar that actually is on top.
Hilton is the predictable Han River room. Outdoor pool, rooftop bar, My Khe by Grab rather than on foot. Fine if the city is the trip. Wrong if the beach is.
June to August, these decks are busy from late morning. Go before 9am if the pool is why you came.
My Khe Beach: rooftop pools facing the ocean
One hotel on this list puts the pool over the beach. You can swim in the sea in the morning and be back on floor 24 in the afternoon. The others need a car for that.
A La Carte Danang Beach
200 Vo Nguyen Giap, My Khe. The tower at the northern end of the strip. All suites. The infinity pool and TOP Bar are on floor 24, the top floor. That is what the hotel’s own 2026 notes say, and what the current rooftop guides say.
From the edge you look north along My Khe toward Son Tra, and south down the beach the other way. Afternoon light is the good light. Morning can be hazy. The hotel lists TOP Bar from 6:30am to midnight, so you can be up there with a coffee, not only for a sunset drink. Non-guests use the bar. A swim without a key is not in the published rules. Ask.
Sea-view suites have been in the ₫1,600,000–₫2,500,000 band. Higher floors clear more of the street. If the sea from the bed matters, take a high sea-view suite and read what that room actually faces, then check the live price. There is also a page for the hotel.
The weakness is the rooms. The location and the pool are ahead of the fit-out. Beds and bathrooms in the standard suites feel older than the rate suggests. Book it for the roof and the beach. If the room has to match the price, the luxury resorts guide has properties that spent the money inside.
The sand is across Vo Nguyen Giap. Half a minute if the road is clear.
Han River and city: rooftop pools facing inland
These three sit west of the beach, on or near the Han River. My Khe is a Grab, not a walk. Budget 10 to 15 minutes when the river road is moving. What you get is the bridge, the promenade, and (at the Wyndham) a pool high enough to see the bay.
Novotel Danang Premier Han River
36–38 Bach Dang. About a 5-minute walk from the Dragon Bridge. The outdoor pool and Splash Pool Bar are on level 4. The hotel’s current site says so, and the 2025 room directory does too: open 6am to 8pm, staff on the deck from 6am to 7pm, deepest point 1.4 m, no diving, children under 12 with an adult. The directory is a year old on the hours. The floor is current. Guests and fitness members. That is the access rule in print. It is not a high rooftop, and it is not a casual day pass.
The river view from level 4 is still a river view. It is not the view people mean when they search for a rooftop pool.
Sky36 is that view. It sits on top of the same tower. Venue guides put it on floors 35 to 37. Sky36’s own site does not print the floor. It does print the hours, and they are daily: 18:00 to 02:00, DJ from 21:00 to 01:30, a show block from 21:30. They call it the highest skybar in Da Nang. They do not publish a cover charge. Some guides say you walk in and pay for drinks. On a Saturday, when the terrace fills for the bridge show, ask about a minimum before you queue.
The Dragon Bridge show is Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 9pm, about 15 minutes, free from the bank. The bridge company confirmed that pattern again in 2026. High rooms and the Sky36 terrace face it. The level-4 pool does not give you that show.
Room rates jump around. Recent metasearch has had standard rooms under US$70 in the cheaper months. River-facing and executive rooms cost more. Check the price for your dates, and the hotel page if you want the photos first.

Wyndham Danang Golden Bay
01 Le Van Duyet, Son Tra. The pool people argue about. 24K gold tile, floor 29, open 06:00 to 22:00. There is a children’s pool and a jacuzzi on the same deck. The hotel still says it is the highest and largest swimming pool in the world. Believe the floor. Treat the world record as marketing.
The look splits people. Some love the gold. Some spend the stay slightly annoyed by it. The view does not split people. Thuan Phuoc Bridge, the mouth of the Han, the bay past it. Golden Pool Bar is on the same floor, 17:00 to 23:00. The bar page does not list drink prices.
The pool page is written for guests. If you are not staying, call +84 236 3878 999 before you turn up. Do not assume the bar lets you onto the water.

The hotel lists a local shuttle. The current amenities page does not say it is a free ride to My Khe. Ask when you book.
The gold runs through the lobby and the lifts as well. You will either find that funny or you will not. Worth knowing before you pay for it.
Hilton Da Nang
50 Bach Dang. Still open, still the straightforward Han River Hilton. Outdoor pool listed 6am to 10pm. 2026 write-ups put the rooftop bar on floor 28. The pool floor itself is not published. It is a swim with a city and river view, not a second Wyndham.
My Khe is a short Grab. This is a bad booking if you want to walk onto the sand every morning. It is a good one if you want the bridge, the promenade, and a hotel that behaves like a Hilton.

Which setup fits your trip?
Stay on My Khe if you will actually swim in the sea, or if you are here more than a few nights and the beach is the day. A La Carte is the rooftop that matches that trip.
Stay on the river if you are here for two or three nights, you want the Dragon Bridge on foot, and the beach is a trip rather than the point. Pick the Wyndham when the pool itself is the reason. Pick the Novotel when you want Sky36 in the same building and you are fine swimming on level 4. Pick the Hilton when you want fewer surprises.

Practical notes
Morning sun hits the My Khe roof first. The east-facing pool is sharp early and busy later. The Han River side is the better sunset. Wyndham’s pool closes at 10pm, Hilton’s is listed to 10pm, Novotel’s pool is listed to 8pm. A La Carte has not published a separate closing time for the water. The bar on that floor runs to midnight.
Novotel publishes deck staff from 6am to 7pm in that 2025 directory. An Expedia listing for the Hilton mentions a lifeguard. I would not assume a lifeguard at A La Carte or the Wyndham. If you are bringing children, ask when you book.
September through December is the wet season. Pools stay open, and a rooftop can still close for wind or a hard rain. October and November are often the cheap months for that reason. There is typhoon risk. February to May is the dry stretch where the pool is pleasant and the rate is off the July peak. How much cheaper depends on the year. The best time to visit Da Nang has the weather pattern.
