Chùa Pháp Lâm

Phap Lam is a busy city-centre pagoda in the heart of Da Nang, a splash of curved rooftops and incense right among the shophouses. Behind the gate you'll find a large Buddha statue, prayer halls and gardens that stay surprisingly calm given the traffic outside. It runs community and charity work and draws a steady flow of local worshippers, so it feels lived-in rather than staged. Easy to reach on foot if you're staying in the centre, and a good quick stop to see everyday Buddhist life in the city. Cover shoulders and knees. Free.
