Chùa Tam Bảo Theravāda

Chùa Tam Bảo Theravāda, founded in 1953 by Venerable Giới Nghiêm (inaugurated 1963), is the founding temple and regional headquarters of Vietnamese Theravada Buddhism across Da Nang and Quảng Nam provinces — the main Theravada centre in central Vietnam, distinct from the Mahayana tradition found in most Vietnamese temples. The most distinctive feature is five tall towers, each painted in one of the five colours of the Buddhist flag (blue, yellow, red, white, orange), with Buddha relics enshrined within. The temple is active and sees few tourists relative to the city's more famous pagodas, making it a calmer visit. Open 6 am–9 pm. Free entry.
