Da Nang Night Market: A Son Tra Guide (2026)

Son Tra Night Market is the Da Nang night market at the east foot of Dragon Bridge, on Võ Văn Kiệt. Hours, what a July 2026 check found, and how it differs from An Thuong and Helio.

If you searched for the Da Nang night market, the one at the bridge is Son Tra Night Market. It sits on Võ Văn Kiệt, phường An Hải, at the east foot of Dragon Bridge. Danang Fantasticity, the city tourism site, listed it on 12 June 2026 with reference hours of 17:00–23:00, and said it is busiest around 19:00–21:00. That page names seafood grilled on site, souvenirs and crafts. It does not list a ticket, so I am not going to invent a fee to sound helpful. A made-up fee is the opposite of helpful.

The photos here are the bridge at night. They are not the stall rows, and I would rather you know that before you squint at the picture looking for a prawn. The market is at the east end of the bridge in the pictures.

Quick facts

  • Address: Võ Văn Kiệt, phường An Hải, at the east foot of Dragon Bridge. Danang Fantasticity, 12 June 2026.
  • Hours: 17:00–23:00 on that page. Busiest about 19:00–21:00.
  • What is there: seafood grilled on the spot, souvenirs, crafts.
  • Entry fee: the tourism page does not list a ticket.
  • Not the west bank: the Bạch Đằng promenade is the other side of the river. This market is the east bank.
  • Not Han Market: Han Market is the daytime covered market at 119 Trần Phú. The same 12 June 2026 tourism roundup lists it 6:00–19:00.

Where it is now

The site to use is the head of Dragon Bridge: plots A2-4 and A2-5 in phường An Hải Nam. Tuổi Trẻ reported on 23 April 2025 that Da Nang’s land-fund centre had awarded a three-year short-term lease of those plots to Công ty cổ phần DHTC Đa Năng. The paper put the land at about 3,800 square metres (A2-4 above 2,200, A2-5 above 1,608) and said the lease included arranging space for about 190 traders already contracted with DHTC.

That 190 is a 2025 lease condition. It is not a count I am willing to call today’s stall total, however tidy it would look in a caption. I am leaving visitor numbers out for the same reason. A confident wrong number is worse than a gap.

Skip the old Mai Hắc Đế / Lý Nam Đế address in An Hải Tây. Tuổi Trẻ said the district ended that pilot from 1 July 2024, and that the city later extended it, before the lease at the bridge head. An older Fantasticity page still prints the Lý Nam Đế address and hours of 18:00–24:00. I am not using that page for the current location or the closing time. Old pages are very sure of themselves. That does not make them current.

What to order, and the July 2026 check

Order from a stall that has a price board. On the night of 25 July 2026, UBND phường An Hải did a preliminary check after social-media posts alleged overcharging, stale seafood, watered watermelon juice and poor hygiene. Tuổi Trẻ reported the result on 26 July 2026.

The initial result was narrow, and it is useful if you read it narrowly. Seafood, food and drink stalls had basically all posted price boards or menus. Officers did not find charging other than the posted price, payment fraud, pressing customers on price, or forcing a purchase, and they had no invoice proving “chặt chém”. They also did not directly find spoiled food or watered juice during the check.

The ward said this was only an initial result, not enough for a full conclusion on food quality or safety, and that an inter-agency team would check sources and sample food. Read it as “posted prices were up that night”. It is not a freshness guarantee, and I will not dress it up as one. I am not repeating prices from single reviews as fact. An angry post is a lead. It is not a menu.

The same Tuổi Trẻ piece places the market near Dragon Bridge and Love Bridge (Cầu Tình Yêu).

The other night markets

An Thuong is the smaller market you can walk to from a My Khe room, on Trần Bạch Đằng. The An Thuong guide on this site lists it from 6pm to 11pm. Son Tra is the one at the bridge. If you are already in flip-flops and the beach is behind you, An Thuong is the lazier, correct choice.

Helio is on đường 2/9 in Hải Châu, not at Dragon Bridge. Helio’s homepage and night-life page both list Chợ đêm Helio - B.fair at 17:00–23:00. The homepage says 130 food stalls. The night-life page gives a registered address of 22 đường 2/9, Phường Bình Hiên, and the phone 0236 3630 666. An older article on the same site says the market closes at 22:30 and that entry is free. I am using the 17:00–23:00 hours on the current pages. Those current pages do not print a ticket, so I am not stating a Helio fee either. Same silence on the fee, same rule.

Hoi An’s night market is a different town, which sounds obvious until a search result tries to merge them. The same 12 June 2026 Fantasticity roundup lists it on Nguyễn Hoàng, phường Hội An Đông, 17:00–23:00. Use the Hoi An old town guide for that trip. What to eat in Da Nang’s daytime halls is the food guide.

Getting there

This market is the east bank. The city centre and the hotels near Dragon Bridge are the west bank, which is the walking side for the bridge itself. Getting around Da Nang covers the Grab from the beach. The river is pretty. It is also a Grab.

Cani Beach House is not a walk to this market. It is a 7-apartment stay at 06 Lê Bôi, Phước Mỹ, at the north end of the beach road. Agoda puts Dragon Bridge 3.42 km from the hotel. Lovely place to sleep, wrong place to start a stroll in sandals.

If you are here on a weekend for the fire-and-water show, the nights and the viewing bank are on the Dragon Bridge hotels guide. This page is the market. I kept them apart on purpose, because a bridge that breathes fire and a stall that grills squid are different plans.

FAQ

Where is Da Nang’s night market?

Son Tra Night Market, on Võ Văn Kiệt, phường An Hải, at the east foot of Dragon Bridge. An Thuong and Helio are different markets. If the search result says “the” night market, it usually means this one.

What time does Son Tra Night Market open?

Danang Fantasticity listed 17:00–23:00 on 12 June 2026, and said the busy stretch is about 19:00–21:00. Arrive in that window if you want the stalls actually cooking.

Is there an entry fee?

That tourism page does not list a ticket. I am not stating a fee. If a page will not say a number, neither will I.

What did the July 2026 check find?

On 25 July 2026 the An Hải ward did a preliminary check. Tuổi Trẻ, on 26 July 2026, reported posted price boards, no proven overcharging case that night, and no spoiled food found during the visit. The ward said it was not a full food-safety conclusion. Posted prices are good news. They are not a promise about the squid.

How is it different from An Thuong and Helio?

An Thuong is the smaller Trần Bạch Đằng market by My Khe, listed on this site from 6pm to 11pm. Helio is on đường 2/9 and lists B.Fair at 17:00–23:00. Son Tra is the stall market at the east foot of Dragon Bridge. Different names, different addresses. Pick the market your feet can reach.

How do I get there?

It is the east end of Dragon Bridge, not the Bạch Đằng promenade. The city centre guide and the Dragon Bridge hotels guide cover the west bank. From the beach, use Grab. The getting around guide has the usual fares.
